Walking With J
Now that the weather is getting nicer I’ve been walking to get my oldest at school each day. We then walk to my youngest son’s school to pick him up before running carpool for the other boys.
This is beneficial for both of us — we need the exercise. It is also great because I get experience all of his delightfully wacky banter on the way. He isn’t the most enthusiastic walker. He knows that we have a van and wonders why we aren’t using it. But, thankfully, he likes to eat, and so if I bring him a small treat he stops complaining about having to walk.
But, that doesn’t keep him from saying things like this:
“What are the chances of you carrying me?”
Well, since he weighs only 20-odd pounds less than I do, I went into all the reasons why I couldn’t carry him.
Yes, especially when we look at how he stacks up with his brothers….
And how tall he is compared to his 6 foot tall father…
So, after my long-winded explanation about the chances of me carrying him under any circumstances, he said, “So…..not good?”
Way to sum it up, my son.
I think that he’s going to be a big one.
Heaven help us.
