Random Bits
I could write about several things today….like how we’re having the weirdest, Mary Poppins-ish weather today.
Dear Sun,
I loved seeing you this morning. How long has it been? It’s odd how, even though I’ve been seeing you all my life, the sight of you still excites me.
Where did you go? Please don’t stay away too long this time.
Thanks!
P.S. Remind me never to move to Siberia or Seattle.
Or, I could write about my dog and his shenanigans, like getting covered with mud and tackling my youngest in the back yard. I will say one thing, that dog is perceptive. He noticed my mood about the mud (did I mention that I absolutely LOATHE mud) and has decided to steer the way clear of me. Sometimes I wish that he would teach some of my progeny about the whole steering clear thing. Some of those dear boys could use the lesson.
And, finally, speaking of progeny, they have decided to love a song. Now, I don’t mind this. I actually share many of their preferences when it comes to music. We like Wilco, the Pixies, Paul Westerberg, Spoon, and lots of other stuff. They tolerate the few slower songs that I like and will even put up with me blaring La Boheme and Motown in the kitchen while I’m cooking. But I’m going to have to try with their new favorite. Why? Because it’s Jeremiah was a Bullfrog. Once I can take fine. Twice, I can grin and bear it. Three times has me wanting to run from the room with my fingers in my ears.
I guess that I should be grateful that it isn’t American Pie.
And, on that note, I’m off to bake some more cookies. We’ve only had Christmas parties, fudge, a huge box of cookies and doughnuts already this week. Got to keep this sugar high rolling.
