A Beautiful Moth
Here is a photo that I took on one of my trips to the zoo last week. (Did you notice that I said one of my trips…that is a story in itself.) This moth is called the Madagascar Moon Moth. So, I asked the docent if this was like a luna moth. He said, “Well, yes. All except that it is bigger and, you know, from half way around the world.” He also told me that the adult moths have no way to eat once they become moths. So, they spend the 5 or so days of their lives as moths surviving on food that they consumed during previous life stages. Weird….and lovely.
