Sunday Night Conversation
So, on Sunday nights, we sometimes eat in shifts. This is because the preparer of our food (me) sometimes doesn’t have it together on Sunday nights. I don’t know why I’m afflicted with the scatterbrains on Sundays, but, well, I am. So, last night Jon and I ate together after the boys were finished.
Jon: Hey, you haven’t worn that bracelet in a long time.
Me: I know, I just thought that it’d go with the other things I had on today. I think that it’s a really old bracelet. Mrs. S gave it to me since she didn’t have any daughters and it was given to Mrs. S when she was a teenager by another lady who didn’t have any daughters.
Jon: Well, it is an interesting bracelet, anyway…
Me: I guess that I’ll have to find a girl to give it to someday, since we don’t have any daughters.
Jon: Well, maybe you can give it to one of our daughters-in-law.
We both turned to look at our *interesting* boys.
Me: Hmmm, well, IF I ever have a daughter-in-law, well, I guess that I could give it to her.
Jon: Yeah, (he paused to throw one more look at our offspring) well, I don’t know, it might clash with her halo.
True, that.
