I want to thank everyone who wished me a “Happy Birthday” — either here, in email or on Jon’s blog. Thank you, thank you! I definitely feel blessed by my family and friends. Meanwhile, I’m settling in to liking 3 X 11 as much as 8 X 4, but you know, I think that it’ll take awhile.

A Sick and Funny 2 Year Old
In addition to the great birthday that started out this week, I also got a 2 year old who has a double ear infection as well as an eye infection. He is also cutting two big molars in the back of his mouth. Stoic child that he is, he is acting like he is feeling pretty good — he is still getting into things, so I’m sure that is a good sign. The other day, I heard the phone beeping, and since I have more than one child who will play with the phone, I called out, “Who is messing with the phone?”, and then set off to find the culprit. I stuck my head in the door of my bedroom and caught the 2 year old in the act. I asked him, “What are you doing?” And, just to prove that he heard me (while continuing to make the phone beep) he answered, matter-of-factly, “I’m messing with the phone.” Aha.
