A Smattering of Thoughts and Jacket Pictures
For some reason, my oldest son has the ritual of singing Brick House every time he is in the shower. I’m going to try and record it next time because it is so funny. He does the mouth trumpet and everything.
On Saturday, my youngest son and I were sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather. One of our neighbors, a twenty-something blonde, went walking by with her dog. She didn’t really see us sitting there until my youngest yelled out, “Hewo, Wuvwy Wady!” while waving his little hand at her. She was talking on the phone at the time so she just waved back and, as far as I could tell, laughed all the way to the end of the street.
I’m still putting some finishing touches on my business before I put it out there for all of y’all to see. So, it is coming and I haven’t forgotten.
My youngest has just started going to pre-school a few afternoons each week. This is major. Not because he misses me. Not because I necessarily miss him, dear little boy that he is. No, it is major because this is the first time in 11 years that I have three hours a day that are all mine. And is this a problem? No. But it is going to take some adjustment on my part. My brain seems to spaz out worse when I have no one else around — like it can multitask with no problem but ask it to decide on a pair of sunglasses or a color of nail polish with no one around and all of a sudden it doesn’t work properly. The only thing I managed to do well during my break yesterday was to buy a cup of coffee, and I really can’ t count that as a success because it is practically involuntary for me. I’ll probably hit my stride with this time alone stuff right when school lets out for the summer. Figures.
Jon wrote a little program to help me put pictures on my blog all by myself. (Thanks, Jon!) So, here are some pictures of my jacket. I don’t usually wear it with jeans, by the way, and it is still sort of rumpled from when I wore it Sunday, but I wanted to get a picture taken this morning before the rain started. I’m pretty pleased with it.
And now y’all can all breathe a sigh of relief over the fact that I am now officially done talking about the jacket.
