The Slacker Mom Has Been Reading Again
I took sort of a mini-vacation this week. Where did I go? Well, nowhere. But I did read 2 books and my house is a wreck — the boys and man have been fed and are wearing clean clothes, however, so don’t assume the worst. First, I read Grace, Eventually, by Anne Lamott. This is the first book that I’ve read by her. I think that I’ll definitely check out some of her other ones, now. Then, I read Atonement, by Ian McEwan. Mainly, I read this because one of my friends recommended it to me when I asked her about it. And, the reason I asked her about it is that the movie based on the book is coming out sometime this fall. If it gets decent ratings, I’ll probably go see it. Finally, I’ve just started Moonstone, by Wilkie Collins. This is supposedly the definitive British detective/mystery novel. But, I won’t be speed reading it because I’ll be trying to figure it out, also, I’ve got some stuff to straighten up around here.
So, that’s where I’ve been. On another note, Jon just acquired a free way COOL chair that I’ll be reupholstering really soon and I promise, promise that I’m going to blog my progress step-by-step. It might be complicated — so that might be interesting.
