Happy Mother’s Day
to all of the mothers who read this blog. I sure hope that y’all had a nice day with your family.
This Mother’s Day, I received some beautiful lilies and a pretty little plant in a homemade pot. My 12 year old son wrote an encomium for me for today. I’m not allowed to share it, though. I wish that I could because it was lovely. My youngest son made a book for me. It was hilarious. In it he thanked me for teaching him to snap his pants and told me he thought me intelligent since I “knew all about the wether”. (That is his spelling of weather, by the way.) Finally, my oldest son wrote me a poem that is equal parts sweet and self-interested. Which sums him up well.
Here it is:
My Mother’s Day Poem
Dear Mother,
You’re beautiful,
Each day I love you more.
You always know what’s best
and what you have in store.
I won’t be mean to you anymore,
And I know just the thing.
We’ll check the show times for Hop
And see which time will ring.
These busters…I’m glad that they’re mine.
