Hmmmmmm
Here we have the latest bit of art that’s come home lately. My 3rd son made it at school. He brought it home last week.
Me: Oh, C, well that’s an interesting coil pot.
C: Yes, all the other kids in my class made heads.
Me: But, you didn’t want to make a head pot?
C: No, I made one with a uvula.
See?
I should always prepared to be surprised by this boy’s point of view. I remember going into his kindergarten classroom one October day. There were some lovely large posters on one wall. On them, the children had drawn their own tree trunk and had then adorned the tree with brightly colored leaves that they had cut out. There were pretty trees – about 20 of them. Then, on one of the pieces of construction paper there was a ferocious-looking alligator made entirely of bright fall leaves. I know that you’ve already guessed who made the alligator.
The beat of your own drummer? It’s real, I tell you.
Happy Monday y’all!
