Happy Monday
to you all.
Jon just said that he’d like to push the Saturday button. If only, right?
I think that we need some music for our Monday.
First up, my boy JLB. Many of you may have seen this on his blog, Wacktopia. I think that this is his best singing effort, so far, but I’m a mother and am therefore not anything approaching objective.
Then, for you garage rock fans, there is this song by Band of Skulls called Light of the Morning.
You may have caught this in the Ford Mustang commercial. I like it — there’s a retro rock feel that is nice.
A free mp3 can be found at Indie Rock Cafe.
The last music suggestion for your Monday comes from a Swedish sister duo called First Aid Kit. The song is Hard Believer. These girls can sing. This is acoustic and has a alt. folk/country sound to me. (Theologically speaking, I completely disagree with the second verse, by the way, but if I had to agree 100 percent with the lyrics of every song on my list then I’d have far fewer songs to listen to.) I really would like to hear more from this album. I’d bet that it is great because this song is stunning.
A free mp3 of Hard Believer can be found here, at HearYa.
I’m off to take my Monday by the horns.
