He is a legend in the music business and a native Mississippian. One of his songs, “Grits ain’t Groceries,” is one of my favorites. He has been entertaining for years and years. This statement was said by Jon as we drove through poverty-stricken central Alabama. We were driving by piles of furniture and stuff that people had piled on the curb — I’m assuming that the following day was trash day.
